Cubs take to the Skies! ✈️ Air Activity Day at Camden Airport

Get ready for an unforgettable day of aviation adventure! Our Cubs are heading to the Scouts NSW Air Activity Centre at Camden Airport for a hands-on day of flying fun, including a scenic flight in a real aircraft, a live airside tour of the airport, an up-close aircraft inspection, building (and racing!) their own gliders, and having a go on flight simulators.

Each Cub will take off in one of Scouts' own Cessna 172s with their own headset, listening in as the pilot talks to the control tower, with views out over Warragamba Dam and the Blue Mountains. The Air Activity Centre has been flying Scouts safely for over 50 years, with experienced pilots and dedicated ground crew running the day.

Cost:

• Flying participant (Cub or adult): $90
• Ground activities only (if your cub prefers not to fly): $27.50
• Non-flying adults can join the ground activities free of charge
• Payment will need to be made on the day

Please register ASAP we must confirm final numbers by 25 July to secure our booking.

Cubs get first priority for flights, but parents are welcome to fly too if space allows! If you'd like to fly, please let us know by 25 July and we'll confirm parent spots closer to the date. Please note maximum weight is 110Kg.

Important notes:

• Travel: DIY
• Arrival: Please arrive no later than 8:30am so all paperwork can be completed. Flag Parade is at 9:00am, and all flying participants will be weighed beforehand (this is a safety requirement for the aircraft).
• The day is estimated to finish at 3:30pm. Please be present from 3:15pm to pick up your child.
• Uniform: Leaders and youth members should wear full Scout uniform. Everyone should bring a hat and sunscreen.
• Footwear: Fully enclosed shoes must be worn at all times (no crocs/sandals). This is a safety requirement.
• Food: Please pack morning tea, lunch and an afternoon snack. Bottled water, soft drinks and Air Activity Centre merchandise are available for purchase (please note: no soft drinks before flying).
• The venue: Activity Days are held on a privately owned public aerodrome, where Scouts rents ground space for its facilities. It is not a campsite, please treat it as private property and stay within designated areas.
• Pets: Not permitted on the aerodrome at any time.
